Support the troops?

Believe it or not, there are still people in this country who support the Bush administration and its policy of preemptive warfare under the guise of the "war on terrorism." While we could debate endlessly on how such a (ever-decreasing) slice of the populace could continue to be hoodwinked by the hapless doublespeak of the likes of Donald Rumsfeld and Dick Cheney, I think the best talking point is to expose the Bush presidency's and the Republican congress' true contempt for the men and women in uniform. Remember, please, that aside from Rumsfeld, none of the civilian architects of the Iraq miasma have ever served in the military (sorry - I don't count Dubya's country club admission into and subsequent AWOL from the Air National Guard as service to anyone but himself). And remember as well, that Cheney's excuse for holding 5 deferements during that famous other blunder (the Vietnam War) was that he had "better things to do."

So, what do our battle-scarred troops face upon their return? It's like this:

This isn't just today's news, ladies and gentlemen. It's been going on since this war started:

So, all of you weekend warriors, have that printed on your magnetic ribbons.
