Bert Jansch 1943-2011
I first heard Bert Jansch when I was 16, and his music has never been far from my ear since. While I never got to see him perform as much as I would have liked, those times - both solo and with the original Pentangle - remain magical musical moments that I will never forget. Bert died on Oct. 5, after a long battle with cancer. To quote Neil Young: "He is a hero of mine, one of my greatest influences. Bert was one of the all-time great acoustic guitarists and singer songwriters." He will be dearly missed.
